Surrounded by the Sahara desert, Niger is ranked in the lowest four countries (182 out of 185 countries) based on the UN’s Human Development Index.1 With intense droughts, poor soil conditions and the gradual spread of the desert, life is difficult. 98% of Niger's population is considered unreached,2 and they have the highest population growth rate in the world—with the average woman having seven kids.1
Serving the Unreached
In Niger, our implementing partners are working in a remote area with immense and urgent need for clean water—and where no other organization is working. Sanitation is also a significant challenge with 16.25 million people (almost 9 in 10 people) lacking access to adequate sanitation facilities.4
The dominant religion is Islam with more 93% of the population identifying as Muslim while Christians represent 1% of the population.2 neverthirst began working in Niger in 2021 to help people gain access to safe water and improved health. Your support brings clean and living water to one of the most unreached countries in the world.

Our Work
Our vision is to see 140,000 people served with clean and living water by 2025. The extreme desert climate makes project installation and maintenance a major challenge, requiring large-scale, solar-powered water projects.
We are focused on improving health in Niger through a sophisticated infrastructure involving water towers, solar-powered submersible pumping solutions, and convenient tapstands throughout a village.
Christianity in Niger is in the minority at 1.5% and persecution against believers is common. Our implementing partners mobilize and invite local pastors and churches to participate in water programs in villages where there is often no Christian presence.
Want to learn how you can directly impact the people of Niger with clean and living water? Sponsor a project below or contact us with your questions.
Fund a Project in Niger
Serve an entire village or school with clean and living water. Projects range in cost depending on the region, project type, and amount of people served.
COMMUNITY TAP STAND FOR A VILLAGE
$25,000
*Most Needed*
As part of a larger community water system, your gift completes a single community tap stand connected to a central water storage tower. A solar-powered pump distributes water from the central tower to multiple tap stands across an entire village (including schools and health centers).
