Nepal is located in South Asia and is ranked 147 out of 189 countries in the world based on the UN’s Human Development Index.1 Almost 10 million people or 34% of the population live in severe multidimensional poverty.1
Serving the Unreached
In Nepal, over 2 million rural people (8.6% of the rural population) lack access to a safe and improved water source, and over 6.6 million (28% of the rural population) lack access to adequate sanitation facilities. 2
The dominant religion is Hinduism with over 84% of the population identifying as Hindu. There are 285 people groups in Nepal, and 275 remain unreached with the gospel.
Christianity is growing yet still in the minority at 1.3%, and Christians often face significant persecution for their faith.3 Neverthirst began working in Nepal in 2016 to help people gain access to safe water and give a platform for local indigenous Christ followers to show God’s love through the provision of clean water.

Our Work
We are focused on improving health in Nepal through a variety of projects. Water programs include connecting households and villages to a protected spring water source, household safe water treatment programs, and school WASH programs that aim to address safe water supply, handwashing, and improved sanitation.
