On my 46th birthday…
Like most of you reading this, I don’t need anything. I have a family who loves me, a safe place live, clothes to wear, food to eat… and I have something that ALL of us take for granted… clean water to drink.
1 in 10 people in our world still lack access to clean water today. It’s hard to imagine, but it’s true. Together, we can end the water crisis for 10,000 people in Cambodia!
And this year, I am excited to announce that the first $50,000 given will be MATCHED!! Give today with double the impact.
Why does clean water matter?
Because illnesses caused by viruses, bacteria and parasites in dirty water kill more children than AIDS, malaria, and measles combined… Over 800 children DIE every day from preventable dirty water diseases. Every day!
In Cambodia (located between Thailand and Vietnam) it’s estimated that 40% of the population (roughly 4 million people) drinks water from a source that’s contaminated with fecal bacteria like E. coli or pollutants like arsenic.
On average, women and young girls are walking up to 1 hour each way and spending 2-5 hours each day collecting dirty drinking water from a water source.
Clean water saves lives
This is the 8th birthday I’ve raised money for neverthirst, an organization that has provided over 1,400,000 people with safe, clean drinking water since 2008.
Since 2015, you-my amazing friends and fans-have funded…
- 157 hand pumps in Cambodia, serving over 15,700 people
- 33 Cambodia School WASH Projects, serving over 4,950 students
- 1 Cambodia school rain tank, serving 360 kids
- 462 household filters, serving 462 families
- 22 household filters and latrines, serving 22 families
So far, we have given safe, clean drinking water to over 23,000 people!!!
Here’s how you can help
Donate $5,000 to fund an entire hand pump for a village. This project serves 100-150 people by providing clean water in a central location.
Donate $15,000 to fund a School WASH Project. This project provides an entire school with clean water, handwashing stations, and sanitation and hygiene training.
Last year, 13 donors each funded their own projects (and some, multiple projects!) and got their names on them. This year I’m expecting way more than that. 😉

If you look close, you can see that it says ‘Chris Beat Cancer’ on it. In addition to this one, together we funded a total of 20 Hand Pumps and nine School WASH Projects.
The $150 on the plaque is how much this village raised, which is a lot of money for them, over one months income for the average family. Each village is responsible to raise a small amount for future maintenance like replacing the pump handle. That way they are invested and take ownership of it.
