Chad ranks 189 out of 193 countries in the UN’s Human Development Index¹. Chad is located in Africa’s Sahel region and stands today as one of the most spiritually needy areas of the world. Within the Sahel, our strategic focus countries include Chad and Niger, home to 107 unreached people groups representing over 33 million people². More than 20 million people in rural Chad and Niger lack access to clean water.

Serve an entire community or school with clean and living water. Projects range in cost depending on the region, project type, and amount of people served.

Co-Fund a Community Tap Stand

As part of a larger system, provide a community tap stand connected directly to piped water. New boreholes are drilled (or existing boreholes rehabilitated) and equipped with a submersible pump powered by solar panels. A central reservoir tank is constructed followed by installation of underground pipelines to carry water to community tap stands. (serves 500 people)

OUR MISSION IN CHAD

Serving the Unreached

The Sahel region represents a large component of the western third of the 10/40 Window and stands as one of the most spiritually needy areas of the world⁶. In both Chad and Niger the Christian Church is in the extreme minority and believers are often persecuted for their faith in Jesus. Local churches are marginalized, lacking both connection and acceptance by the wider community.

Our local partners invite pastors and churches to participate in the provision of clean water, giving them the opportunity to access and build meaningful connections with unreached communities. We have seen how this changes attitudes towards the Christian community and creates an openness for relationships to be established.

The programs in Chad and Niger provide training in evangelism and support local pastors with evangelistic resources. This includes livelihood initiatives aimed at empowering local believers to undertake and lead sustainable evangelistic activities on their own initiative.

Our Plan

With your help, more than 210,000 people will be served with access to clean and living water across two target regions in Chad and Niger by the end of 2028. This will complete a task begun in 2021 to provide everyone in these regions with access to clean water. You can make it possible to see:
